My First Violin is a 12-week group class for first-time violin students. The instructor will be using a combination of styles including Suzuki and Kodaly. Your child will be part of a fun and interactive learning environment where they will be engaged in the fundamentals of violin playing. Students will study concepts like rhythm, dynamics, tempo, and pitch through musical games. Students must provide their own instrument.
The class meets weekly for 45 minutes, for 12 weeks. A student provided instrument is required.
Each class has a maximum of 6 students, and one teacher providing the best learning experience. Students may enroll up to the 2nd week of the session.
Children should be able to read numbers one through five and letters A through G. Parents are not required to attend. Sessions will run for twelve weeks. Registration fee does not apply. Course Materials are included. Cost $319.

What will the class cover?
This class combines social learning, violin instruction, and musical play. We move between learning activities at three to five minute intervals to keep students engaged. No experience is necessary for this fun and engaging violin class.
Are course materials included?
Yes, course materials (books) are included in the class cost.
Do I need a violin?
Yes, students will need to provide their own violin prior to the first class. Please consider being professionally fit for an instrument that is the correct size. A properly fitting instrument is important in early technique development. Rental instruments are available at many local retailers. All students should also have appropriate accessories such as a shoulder rest and violin rosin. Your teacher can provide suggestions on these accessories.
What happens if I miss a class?
No makeups are provided as the class is a sequenced curriculum paced out over 12 weeks.
